Malaysia Kannada Sangha (MKS) brings together Kannadigas across Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor and beyond to celebrate our language, festivals and traditions — and to support one another far from home.
Malaysia Kannada Sangha is a community for Kannadigas living across Malaysia to celebrate and preserve our language, culture and traditions. We build a strong network, support fellow Kannadigas settling into a new country, and pass our heritage on to the next generation.
"ಮಲೇಷ್ಯಾ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಘ" ಮಲೇಷ್ಯಾದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗಾಗಿ ಇರುವ ಒಂದು ಸಮುದಾಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ, ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಸಮರ್ಪಿತವಾಗಿದೆ.

A volunteer-run initiative teaching Kannada language to children across Malaysia, completely free of cost. If your kids want to learn to read, write and speak Kannada, this is a great place to start.

📲 Join WhatsApp GroupMost Kannadigas settle around Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Cyberjaya and Penang, well connected by LRT/MRT. Start early with your documents ready (passport, employment pass, payslip).
Register your pass and complete any required steps soon after arrival. Keep your passport, employment pass/visa and address proof handy.
Prepaid SIMs are easy to get with just a passport — great for your first few weeks. Switch to a postpaid plan once settled.
A local bank account is essential for salary and daily payments. Most banks ask for passport, visa/employment pass and proof of address.
Consider private health insurance alongside public healthcare access — private hospitals in KL and Penang are widely used by the expat community.
Klang Valley's LRT/MRT/Monorail network covers most of KL. A Touch 'n Go card is your best friend for trains, tolls and buses; Grab is widely used for rides.
